Speech Therapy No More Volume 1 Heather Graham 9781546781455 Books
Speech Therapy No More by Heather Graham is the sweet story of a young boy, Eli, who has a speech impediment. He goes through his early school years with embarrassment and shame, mostly due to the bullying of other students. Eli is loved very much by his parents, and they do their best to help him overcome his challenges. While the school recommended formal speech therapy, Eli’s parents opted to work toward his speech on their own. This is the one part of the book that I found difficult to accept, but I also empathized with his parents. They do eventually seek professional help for their son, but only after his difficulties continue. Eli is a strong kid and eventually focuses his energy on the goal of making the school basketball team. All in all a story of hope, hard work, and setting/achieving goals. Thanks to Ms. Graham for sharing the story with me. It was enjoyable with a very positive message.Tags : Speech Therapy No More (Volume 1) [Heather Graham] on Amazon.com. *FREE* shipping on qualifying offers. This is a very good book chronicling the life of a boy from birth through 5th grade with all the ups, downs, bullying and overcoming his problems related to his speech impediment. This book is good for both a child going through a difficult time and for children to understand other’s problems in an empathetic way. I was provided with a complimentary copy of this book so I could give an honest review.
Great even for children with no disabilities because it helps them to understand how someone who does might feel. It causes them to be more sensitive.
I felt the author did a tremendous job of sharing how a child with similar problems with stuttering 0, etc that was making this child feel so embarrassed and bullied to extreme loneliness and shame of not being like other children and knowing it full well as this boy or a girl could feel like and how their teacher or guardian could be of such help to one like this one. Is why I wish to rate this for five stars and recommend this for kids like this one before it's too late.
I received this ebook for free using KU , now in return, here's my honest review. Super work Heather! By Angela
I am not sure who the audience for this book was, but it was written in short sentences like it was for a child, but the vocab didn't necessarily follow. I didn't pay a lot for it, and it didn't take long to read, so it wasn't a big investment. Even in the short work, the same things were repeated over and over, I didn't feel that it offered viable solutions.
